How do I use my GitHub Student Pack free month if I have no payment card?

If you are a verified GitHub student but do not have a payment card to start your free month, you do not need one. Email us and we will activate it for you manually.

Redeeming with a card

Normally, claiming the free month from the GitHub Student Developer Pack asks you to choose a plan and enter your payment details at checkout. You are not charged during the free month. If you do not want to continue, cancel before the free month ends, otherwise the subscription fee for your chosen plan applies.

Redeeming without a card

If you do not have a payment card, email help@scrimba.com from your account. Include your GitHub username and a screenshot of your approved GitHub Education status, and we will add the free month to your account manually.

When does the free month start?

The free month activates as soon as it is applied to your account, so claim it when you are ready to study.
