How do I get the Student Github free access?

With the GitHub Student Developer Pack, you get 1 free month of Scrimba Pro, giving you full access to all our courses and the exclusive Pro channels on Discord.

Sign up for the Student Developer Pack

1. Visit the GitHub Education benefits page at https://education.github.com/pack.
2. Follow the instructions to apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack.
3. Wait for GitHub to approve your application. This can take some time.

Activate your free month on Scrimba

1. Log into Scrimba using Continue with GitHub.
2. If GitHub recognizes your student status, the free one-month pack is activated.
3. Look for the yellow UPGRADE button in the lower left.
4. In the checkout, you should see a note that you have applied the GitHub Student 30-Day Trial.

If your free month is not activating

The most common reasons:

• Your Student Pack is still pending. GitHub has to approve your application first. Check your status at https://education.github.com/pack.
• You did not sign in with GitHub. You must log into Scrimba using "Continue with GitHub", using the same GitHub account that holds the Student Pack.
• Your Scrimba and GitHub accounts use different emails. Make sure the GitHub account linked to Scrimba is the one verified as a student.
• You have already used the trial. The GitHub Student free month can be used once per account.

Quick fix: log out of Scrimba, then log back in via GitHub. This triggers a fresh check of your student status.
